Lots of visiting!

Thursday Ryan was here for most of the day. We were able to meet with a PA from the NICU who actually remembered us because she had connections in Connecticut with Ryan's mom. She explained a few different scenarios which was somewhat stress relieving for us. I am definitely a person who likes to know what to expect and I know it won't go exactly a certain way but it's nice to know more and have an idea of what might happen. She told us that if the babies are born at 34 weeks or less and under 1500 grams (approx. 3 -3 1/2 lbs) they will automatically go to the NICU. Since I found this week from my doc that our babies will be delivered at 34 weeks we now know they will most likely both be in the NICU. The PA also told us that they were all set and ready for our twins. I thought she was just saying they were ready and everything was right there. This in-it's-self was nice to know.

Later, I was in the NICU visiting a friend and her baby and the PA walked by and asked me to stop and see her before I left. It made me a little nervous at first because I thought maybe I wasn't supposed to be in there being pregnant or something like that (I felt like I was in grade school again and getting in trouble, which was silly). When I did stop to talk with her she said come over here I want to show you this. She said most parents of course don't get this chance but since I was there she showed me exactly where our girls would be. They have two containers (I'm not sure what they are called, those big plastic boxes) all set up and ready for our twins. I could hardly believe it. That really put me at ease. Knowing that the staff knows what coming just makes everything less stressful. Thank you Lord for technology and smart people to learn about it and use it!!

Today Amanda came to see me in the morning. Unfortunately my monitoring didn't start until just before she got there. She sat there with me though and we were able to chat. Then we went to see Jaime and Tarah in the NICU and we were there for about a couple hours I think. Jaime and Tarah were in a back room so we just pulled up chairs and stayed awhile.
This afternoon The Boyums minus a couple visited for awhile. This is them in my room. They just hung out with me in my room. It's nice to have conversations with people who I actually know well. It feels more normal. :)

Oh, I moved again to the nice room I have been waiting for. It is very nice. It has TWO windows and a table with chairs!! I actually ate supper at a table the last night! In the top pic Ryan is standing in front of the windows. That's all for now. :)

A room with a view--so nice! Also fun to see Mike and Kim again.
We know that you are going to get the best of care, and most of all, your Heavenly Father cares even more!
(Mark is here for the week, so we are enjoying having him with us.)

It's good to see that you got a more comfortable room for the rest of your stay. I'm glad you have a table to sit at now, too. I'm also glad that you got a lot of questions answered. I know exactly how you feel with wanting to have some idea of how things will happen. I am the same way. God knows those things and he provides at the right time. It sounds like you are doing good. I will talk to you again soon. Things are really busy down here so I'll probably call you after Tuesday(concert day!)Take care.

Hi Kjirsti and Ryan,
This is Beth (Turner) Bichel and I just wanted to say that I am reading your blog and praying for your babies. I found your blog through Shannon E. and love reading about all these babies. How far is that hospital from where you live? You sound so optamistic. I admire you both. Traci Hoganson says hi also. Have a great day you guys!!! Beth
